Creating fertilizer from the leftover ‘digestate’

Apart from gas, fermentation also produces so-called digestate, the leftover material. At Ecoson, we use the digestate resulting from the fermentation of pig manure to produce yet another high-value resource: a natural organic fertilizer product rich in phosphate.

Reducing phosphate levels in the Netherlands, supplying farmers in France

This biophosphate fertilizer comes in the form of small, dry pellets that are easy to transport and apply to farmland. Through this process we help Dutch farmers deal with the Netherlands’ manure surplus, while providing farmers in other regions, such as France, with essential phosphates.
