We produce high-value products from residuals without causing any new waste streams. In fully compliant, strictly separated processes, we produce biofuels from discarded animal fats, renewable gas and electricity from organic food waste, and organic, phosphate-based fertilizer from pig manure.
Ecoson is a European bio-digestion specialist and pioneer in the production of renewable gas and electricity, biofuel and organic, phosphate-based fertilizers. We create these using organic by-products collected from diverse industries and relying on our understanding of natural and technological processes. We add maximum value to the chain by creating new, sustainable resources for today’s growing world.
At our fat refinery facility, we apply state-of-the-art cleaning and refining processes to convert animal fats that are unfit for human consumption into biofuels. Some are used to produce Bioline, a second-generation renewable alternative to natural gas or fossil fuels. Others are sold for use as a feedstock on the biodiesel market. We also have our own small-scale biodiesel production installation.
By converting pig manure into natural organic fertilizer pellets rich in phosphate, we supply farmers abroad with much-needed phosphate nutrients, while providing Dutch farmers with a solution for fulfilling the Netherlands’ strict manure processing legislation and cutting phosphate levels.
Whether you run a food waste collection company or a slaughterhouse, food processing plant, supermarket, restaurant, with Ecoson you can be sure that your organic food waste will neither be wasted nor end up where it does not belong. Instead, we will use it to create renewable gas and electricity.
